At the heart of it all, I tell stories.

My current work in web development spans the gamut of strategic planning, concept, design and coding – all with the emphasis on helping other entrepreneurs create engaging websites that tell their story. I craft these through my business KR Media & Designs (KRMD).

I began my career as an actress  (Kristina Sisco) on CBS Daytime’s As the World Turns. Following that debut, I appeared on NBC Daytime’s Passions, Sands of Oblivion for the Sci-Fi Network and The Flock, a major motion picture starring Richard Gere and Claire Danes. In 2001 and 2002, I was honored to receive a Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Daytime Drama. Compelled by storytelling, I inevitably turned to writing and directing. As a filmmaker, I directed for the award-winning CBS soap opera As the World Turns, the award-winning short film Juche Rules, and wrote, edited and directed the short film, Abigail.

Calling Extra by Kristina Romero“If there’s a book that you want to read, but it hasn’t been written yet, then you must write it.”  Toni Morrison

Making connections with a younger audience inspired me to take pen in hand to write a historical novel for young readers.  In 2012, I published my debut novel, Calling Extra, a book about recognizing the power in one’s own voice to make a difference. Calling Extra explores the child labor movement, immigration and the impoverished slums of New York at the dawn of the twentieth century.  Portraying the true story of the newsboy strike of 1899, it’s among the few books that strive to accurately portray the historical event, also featured in the Disney film and Broadway musical, Newsies. Similarities abound, like ensuring that visitors find a clear path for easy navigation. Creating memorable visuals and text that reflect your branding. My job is to craft websites that connect web visitors to your vision on a more personal and memorable level.
